Over halfway through the Vendee Arctique Race with 1339.3nm to the finish, Boris Herrmann on Seaexplorer – Yacht Club de Monaco slides into first place at 09:30 CET on 10 July 2020. This is an incredibly exciting and tight race with the top 5 boats all within 16.8 nm of each other. This race is shaping up to be more like a drag race with competitors insight of each other and battling for places, it is unlikely we will see such close racing during the Vendee Globe in 8th November 2020.

Boris has been between the first 7 boats the entire race, but this is the first time he has moved into 1st place. He climbed up to the position during the night and seems to be in a wind corridor with his competitors Sam Davies and Kevin Escoffier. Let’s see if he can hold on to one of the top spots.

Thanks to all of the team for making this position possible, we are really happy with how Seaexplorer – Yacht Club de Monaco is performing and that she will be able to play a major role in the next Vendee Globe.

Stay tuned!
