What is it?

Kiel Week (Kieler Woche) is an annual sailing event in Kiel, the capital of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany and it is the largest sailing event in Europe. Due to Covid the event did not happen last year and this year it was postponed from June till September and will be smaller than past events but the sailing schedule remains the same.

What is to see?

Between Saturday 4th until Sunday 12th September there will be a Race Village open from 10am – 8pm with different food and music stands. We have the Team Malizia tent where you can learn about our programme and meet the team! It’s free for everyone to visit. You will need to show your vaccination certificate or do a quick test in one of the test centres: https://testen-sh.de/index.php/kieler-woche

Tomorrow is the Welcome Race and we are participating in it on Malizia I our GC32 catamaran. Boris will be sailing with German Olympic sailor Susan Beucke, English offshore sailor Emily Nagel and French crew Louis Viat and Jean-Baptiste Gellee with English Co-skipper Will Harris on navigation and weather. We will be sailing on the GC32 every day with Malizia friends and team partner guests.

Media and press:

We have organised a hybrid press conference on Thursday 9th September, in German, taking place at 2:15pm at the DSV in Schilksee and virtually via Zoom (details below).

This will give Boris a chance to update you all on the developments within the team and on the new boat as well as the future projects followed by the chance for you to ask Boris questions.

Please RSVP if you are a journalist and you would like to attend virtually or in person by contacting Holly Cova via email to ensure all Corona measures are met: Holly@borisherrmannracing.com.
